HomeCourt Alternatives: AI Basketball Apps That Are Still Being Updated

HomeCourt was one of the first apps to turn a phone into a basketball shot tracker. When it was last updated, and the price text on file for it, are in the line and table below.

An app that hasn’t been updated in a long time might still work for you. But the listing still sells subscriptions, so if you’re choosing today, it’s worth knowing which apps are still being worked on.

Heads up: We haven’t hands-on tested these apps. Everything below comes from App Store listings, the developers’ own sites, and one cited third-party comparison. See how we get the data.

The alternatives, briefly

Ball AI. You put your phone on the ground or a tripod and it tracks shooting, finishing and dribbling, calling makes and misses live with AI voice feedback. It’s on Android too.

Shot Count. It does one job: counts makes and misses automatically and shows shot charts and heatmaps, using just an iPhone. A good fit if you want numbers, not coaching.

Hoops (Pillar Vision). AI shot feedback from the company behind the NOAH shooting system. iPhone only.

Swish AI. Record a shooting session and it breaks down your form frame by frame: elbow, feet, release, follow-through. There’s no free tier for analysis.

Jumpshot AI. Film a short clip and it breaks down each jump shot, then builds a daily program around your weak spots.

RIMNET. Prop your phone at the base of the hoop and the AI counts makes and misses. It adds challenges, XP and leagues. Free to start on iOS and Android, according to its site. We have no App Store update date on file for it, so it isn’t in the table.

How to choose

  • Want one app for shooting and handles? Start with Ball AI.
  • Only want a make/miss counter? Shot Count, or RIMNET (no App Store update date on file) if you want it free.
  • Working on your form specifically? Swish AI or Jumpshot AI.
  • On a budget and on iPhone? Hoops.
  • On Android? Ball AI, Jumpshot AI or RIMNET (no App Store update date on file). See our Android list.
  • Want a direct matchup? See Ball AI vs HomeCourt.

Before you subscribe to any app, check its update date. On the App Store, it’s in the version history right under the description.

FAQ

Is HomeCourt still being updated? Check the update date in the line above the table. It comes from HomeCourt’s App Store listing.

Does HomeCourt still charge a subscription? Its App Store listing still shows subscription plans. The HomeCourt row in the table has the price text we have on file.

What’s the closest replacement for HomeCourt? For phone-camera shot tracking, Ball AI covers the most ground (shooting, finishing, dribbling). If you only want counting, try Shot Count or RIMNET (no App Store update date on file).

Is there a free HomeCourt alternative? RIMNET (no App Store update date on file) is free to start, with a paid Premium tier. Most others need a subscription for their main features. See free AI basketball apps.
